We are super stoked to announce that the ltd edition of 200 copies of our debut LP vinyl, I’d rather listen to the bloody birds (UFIB002), is all gone. So thanks everyone for the support. We may be doing another run of 100 or so in the near future.

If you missed out on picking one up from our bandcamp these stores may still have a couple:

Mixtape: Wildman and the Woodwose (Adventures in Psychedelia)

Awesome new mix from our mate, most likely forged in the hills of Byron Bay:

The wild man is a mythical figure that appears in the artwork and literature. The first element of woodwose is usually explained as from wudu “wood”, “forest”. The second element is less clear. It has been identified as a hypothetical noun wāsa “being”, from the verb wesan, wosan “to be”, “to be alive”. - Stories Through Sound

Secretsful of Sauce

So here’s our version of Pink Floyd – Saucerful of Secrets. We got asked a while back by Yoshi Sodeoka to do a cover of a Pink Floyd track for the visual collective/project Plink Flojd. The awesome visuals are by Theodore Darst.

and here is the full version of the track as we had to shave about 2mins+ off for the vid:

Permanent Records Chicago

SFcover_front

If your in the states you can now purchase our LP at Permanent Records*. Here’s what they had to say about the LP:

“An Australian band that moved to Germany that started a heavy instrumental psychedelic group that get’s its record funded by a “grow your own” website called Magic Mushroom Shop?  Oh yeah.. this is gonna get tons of spins round Permo-HQ.  This release is a quintessential Permanent record, it’s got fugged up 3d-ish artwork and the lysergic sonics coming out of our speakers are of the most ear pleasing psychedelic variety.  “I’d Rather Listen To The Bloody Birds” is grooving through the acid vision cosmos with driving beats, melodic bass lines, effect drenched guitars creating future primitive instrumental head swirlers from start to finish.  Strange Focus are squinting the sounds of acts like White Hills, Disappears, Camera, The Telescopes and Swervedriver and concocting their own brand of fungus minded psychedelia, a sound that conjures the depths of the mind with a heaping helping of VOLUME.  Crank this sucker and stare at your hand for a few hours.  .. wait… did that chair just move? Supremely Recommended.”
